After-hour emergency services that we recommend for our patients:

These emergency services are open and fully staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week including all holidays.  Each service has the capability of transferring the patient back to our care or transferring the patient within the same facility to Internal Medicine, Oncology or Surgery.  These three specialties are staffed by boarded Diplomates in their respective areas of specialization.

The closest emergency facility is twenty minutes from the Sagamore Hills-Northfield-Macedonia area and is called The Great Lakes Veterinary Specialists (Emergency Center) at 4760 Richmond Road, Warrensville Heights, Ohio.  They recommend calling first at 216-831-6789.   To view their web site, including a downloadable map, click on GLVS.

For our central Summit County, e.g., Akron vicinity, patients there are two emergency services available.

The Akron Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center at 1321 Centerview Circle, Akron, Ohio.  They also request a phone call if possible at 330-665-4996.  Their website may be reached by clicking on AVREC

The Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital at 1053 South Cleveland-Massillon Road, Akron, Ohio may be reached at 330-666-2976.  Their website may be viewed by clicking on MVH.

Animal Emergency West/Cleveland Veterinary Referral at 14000 Keystone Parkway, Brookpark is located one block north of I-480 and between West 140th and West 150th.  This westside of Cleveland facility provides emergency coverage when we are normally closed.  The phone number is 216-362-6000.  To view their web site click on AECW.

We recommend familiarizing yourself with the closest emergency facility and bookmarking their website in your computer. We gladly accept emergencies during our operating hours; however, we do not have 24-hour supervision on site or 24-hour on-site emergency coverage.
